We are a Covid safe business - Details Here

At Friday Creek Retreat we believe that furry family members deserve a holiday just as much as everyone else, and we’ve gone out of our way to make sure your pets get a warm welcome and as many pats as they can handle. Our cosy cottages and magnificent rolling hinterland property make for an absolute pooch’s paradise, so don’t even consider leaving them at home!

What’s so wonderful about the Coffs Coast is that, even beyond the boundaries of our property, it’s a fabulously pet-friendly holiday destination – with plenty of wide open spaces, lush nature walks and, of course, those glorious beaches.

We’re pretty sure we’ve seen more than a few paw-shaped 5-star reviews in our guest book and they might have mentioned the following…

Free range living

The beauty of staying in our laidback hinterland region is that, as long as they’re well behaved (but of course!), dogs are welcomed into daily life and accepted as part of the community. The local markets and many of the cafes are dog friendly, so if you fancy popping out for a cuppa and a doggy-cino with your mate, places like the Idle In Café, in Nana Glen, are right on the, err, pawstep.

If you’re venturing a little further afield, Maggie’s Dog Café at Moonee Beach is custom made for four-legged guests – and they even have their own menu!

Off-leash at the beach

Ahh, the scent of salt spray in the fur and the feeling of sand between the paws…is there a dog alive whose favourite day out isn’t the beach? While there are some beaches dogs are prohibited (make sure you know the ones), there are plenty where they’re welcomed on leash and a good handful where they’re allowed off the lead.

The stunning beaches of Coffs Harbour are just 25 minutes away from Friday Creek Retreat. The nearest off leash one is beautiful North Wall Beach, in Marina Drive, so grab a few toys and treats for your furry friend and declare “surf’s up!”

A walk in the park

While dogs aren’t allowed in national park wildlife protection areas, the Coffs Coast Regional Park does include some places where they’re welcome as long as you keep them under control. There are also numerous open reserves where they can run off steam and socialise with some of the locals (dogs and humans).

Chilled out and cosy…

When we say our accommodation is pet-friendly, we mean it. So if your pet is accustomed to the inside life at home, they’re more than welcome inside our cottages. Depending on the weather, length of stay, or the level on your relax-o-meter, on the days you just feel like doing nothing more strenuous than taking in the rolling hinterland views, be our guest. There’s no need for doggy day-care because your pet will feel just as chilled out as you – whether they’re curled up in front of the open fireplace warming their paws, or stretched out in the sun on the veranda dreaming of Schmackos. Home sweet home.

…Explore our back yard

When you’ve got a back yard like ours, why wouldn’t you stay at home? Our pet guests absolutely adore the freedom of exploring the gorgeous 100-acre surrounds of Friday Creek Retreat. You can take them on a short leg stretcher or a long rambling walk around the property, taking in the crisp hinterland air and listening to the calls of nature – bliss for humans and furry family members! Of course, because the property is also home to a host of native wildlife, we ask that you keep your pet under control and on its best behaviour.

We love your pets – just ask us!

We welcome all creatures great and small (within reason of course!) and we’ve got a wealth of other pet-friendly tips to share about our magnificent hinterland area. So feel free to give us a call beforehand, or just ask us when you get here. All we request is that you remain respectful of the wildlife, other guests and that you pick up after your pet during your stay.

Bookings can be made directly through us, so give us a call on 02 6653 8221 or drop us an email to info@Fridaycreek.com.

Plan a cosy winter escape in one of our idyllic cottages and bring your furry four-legged friend with you. Why should they miss out on all the fun? (BYO pet food, bedding, bowls and leashes.)
