Well, February has been another very busy month so far at Friday Creek.
On the Oz Tag Junior Cup weekend we had lots of families staying here and sweltering through some of the hottest days on record. It must have been tough on the kids having to play in such intense heat, and also very tough on the parents waiting around in the heat, many returning with sunburn despite applying lots of sunscreen.
Our swimming pool was the most popular place during the hot weekend, with the BBQ and wood fired pizza oven being well used.
Our next large group in March is the Victorian Touch Football league.
This annual event in Coffs Harbour has proven to be a highlight on the Touch Football calendar, and every year shows the further development of the sport.
The aim of the tournament is to showcase representative Touch Football on a national stage, as well as provide an opportunity for the country’s best athletes to come together and compete against each other.
The commencement of our swimming pool deck extension got underway early February and progress is going well, with decking boards being laid next week. This new area of over 100 square metres is stepped down from the existing deck to enhance the beautiful valley views. The pool pump house has been moved from its original position, which was blocking a lot of the view, and is now located out of sight where it should be.
This new area will be a fabulous addition for busy times like school holidays, Christmas and Easter.
We will be adding another BBQ area to enable people to spread out and find their own space if required. Some new furniture has also arrived, with more on order. There will be plenty of sun lounges, tables, chairs and umbrellas for all guests to enjoy the time around the pool.
This large area will also be a bonus for large groups to be able to have a common spacious area in which to congregate, eat and entertain.
I will update progress on the deck extension on this blog and on Facebook.
