Another hectic month at Friday Creek is nearly over, with each month being busier than the last.
Every weekend here in October has been an event filled weekend, from the Oztag Australian Junior championships, to 3 weddings, all fully booked, with the weddings being luckier with the weather than the Oztag championships.
Our 3rd wedding for the month is happening this Monday evening – a small intimate affair with the reception being held on our newly extended pool deck. Our last wedding had a marquee with a clear glass roof, and even though the weather was not quite right for star gazing, it made the guests feel like they were dining outside.
We have just said goodbye today to Snuggleberry and Huckleberry, the beautiful retriever assistance dogs, who came back for their second visit this month, and had a great time relaxing and exploring for 4 days with their owner and trainer, the lovely Sam from www.inthepawsofangels.com We have had nothing but good comments from guests since we made the retreat pet friendly as soon as we took over.
We can’t believe how many bookings we are receiving with “referral” being how guests have found out about us.
It is very satisfying for us to know that so many previous guests are recommending us to their family and friends.
The positive, mostly 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor, Booking.com and Google are also confirmation to us that we are doing things right.
After more than 3 months with no rain and our paddocks turning brown, the drought finally broke with an onslaught of rain. You could almost see the grass growing, and the whole valley is now beautifully green again, with all our trees covered in fresh new leaves and our silky oaks and grevilleas in full bloom.
We are now in summer mode here at Friday Creek, with the fires packed away for the season, and the warm weather has arrived for guests to now enjoy the pool.
The refurbishments on the cottages are still ongoing, but difficult to do when we are so busy, but they will be completed as soon as possible.
Until next time….
Cheers
Judy
